EdMaster is a study-abroad counselling and test preparation consultancy in Vadodara, guiding students through exam preparation, course selection, and university applications.

The challenge

Good counselling and good test prep pull a consultancy in opposite directions.

Counselling is a human craft. It depends on a counsellor knowing a student — their ambition, their risk appetite, whether the course they're asking about is really the course they want. That doesn't automate.

Test preparation is the opposite. It rewards volume, immediate feedback, and infinite patience — exactly what a human counsellor doesn't have at 9pm when a student wants their fourth speaking attempt marked.

Most consultancies resolve this by doing one of them badly. Either the counselling is a thin layer over a sales process, or the 'prep' is a folder of past papers.

EdMaster wanted both, properly.

The solution

EdMaster runs a publicly branded AI Tools section on their own site, powered by PrepareBuddy — pairing automated practice and evaluation with structured psychometric insight that feeds directly into counselling conversations.

The practice side (automated):

• AI-evaluated writing with criterion-level feedback
• AI speaking practice with per-criterion justification, available whenever the student is
• Adaptive question bank targeting each student's actual weak areas
• Full-length mocks in official exam interfaces

The counselling side (human, better informed):

• Seven psychometric frameworks — Big Five, Holland Code (RIASEC), HEXACO, DISC, MBTI-style, Emotional Intelligence and TCI — producing structured profiles rather than a personality label
• AI career and programme recommendations grounded in those profiles: fit-scored career paths, suitable study-abroad programmes, and countries matching the student's working style
• University shortlisting with a deterministic 100-point student index producing Safe / Target / Ambitious groupings
• Counsellor Co-Pilot — the counsellor reviews every AI recommendation before the student sees it, and can pin a university, hide an irrelevant one, override a match category, or attach a personal note that appears as a highlighted callout on the student's card

That last capability is the point. The AI does the work no human should be doing; the counsellor keeps the judgment no machine should be making.

How it works

1. Profile — student completes psychometric assessment; results feed Stage 1 of their journey dashboard
2. Practise — assigned and self-directed preparation with AI evaluation on every attempt
3. Shortlist — university recommendations generated against the student's index score
4. Review — counsellor adjusts, annotates and approves before release; the student sees a 'Counsellor Reviewed' badge
5. Track — a 10-stage journey dashboard follows the student from preparation through to departure

The outcome

EdMaster's counsellors walk into every conversation holding structured evidence about the student in front of them, and the students get practice volume and feedback quality that no counsellor's calendar could ever supply. Neither side of the business is compromised to serve the other.
